professional services

Consulting, implementation, training and ongoing support — on AKS, EKS and on-premises, with GitOps and CI/CD. We work embedded in our clients' engineering teams: two Kubestronauts on the team, one of them Golden.

An engineering team, not a slide deck

cloudpunks GmbH is a German IT consultancy focused on cloud infrastructure, automation and platform engineering. We plan, build and keep developing Kubernetes platforms for enterprise clients — regulated industries included. We work across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and remotely across Europe. Engineers work directly with your teams: attending standups and sprint planning, reachable in chat, with cluster admin access and ownership of the work.

Teams, not tickets. Terraform before PowerPoint.

Consulting, implementation, training and support

Most Kubernetes projects do not fail on the technology. They fail on unrealistic timelines, underestimated complexity and nobody owning day-2 operations. These four services exist to cover the whole life cycle rather than the launch.

Consulting

Architecture and an honest answer on whether Kubernetes is the right call.

  • Readiness assessment: applications, infrastructure, compliance requirements
  • Architecture blueprint including multi-cluster and disaster-recovery design
  • Platform decision: managed (EKS, AKS) vs. self-managed (OpenShift, Cluster API)
  • Cost model with realistic numbers, not best-case arithmetic
  • Migration roadmap sequenced by complexity and business value

Implementation

We build the platform, reproducibly, and hand over the documentation with it.

  • Production-grade clusters: private networking, segmentation, RBAC, upgrade strategy
  • Everything as code — Terraform for infrastructure, GitOps with Argo CD or Flux for workloads
  • Policy as code with Kyverno or OPA/Gatekeeper, audit logging from day one
  • RBAC wired into your existing identity provider (Entra ID, AWS IAM)
  • CI/CD pipelines with an audit trail: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps
  • Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry

Training

Taught by the engineers who run these platforms in production.

  • Kubernetes Foundation Training, two days, hands-on rather than slide-driven
  • Groups of up to 10, with a dedicated cluster environment per participant
  • Participants build a container, deploy to Kubernetes, and configure RBAC, resource limits and autoscaling themselves
  • Day two ends with the application deployed via GitOps — commit to Git, roll out to the cluster
  • Custom workshops on your own stack: GitOps, security and policy, day-2 operations

Support

Ongoing support as an embedded platform team — day 2 is where Kubernetes gets expensive.

  • Embedded platform team: part of your sprints and standups, direct chat, no ticket detours
  • Kubernetes upgrades and security patches as a scheduled process, not a yearly panic
  • Platform evolution: onboarding new workloads, multi-cluster expansion, service mesh
  • Cost reviews: node sizing, spot and reserved capacity
  • Cluster admin access and real ownership of the work

Managed, self-managed or on-premises

We are vendor-agnostic by default. Whether a workload belongs on managed Kubernetes or a self-managed cluster is a decision we make with you, based on your environment — not on a house default.

Managed KubernetesAmazon EKS, Azure AKS
Self-managed KubernetesOpenShift, Rancher, Cluster API, on-premises
GitOpsArgo CD, Flux, Helm
CI/CDGitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins
Security & policyKyverno, OPA/Gatekeeper, Trivy, Falco
ObservabilityPrometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger
Infrastructure as codeTerraform, Crossplane, Bicep, CloudFormation
Platform engineeringBackstage, internal developer portals, self-service platforms

Plan, build, keep going

01

Plan

We review your infrastructure, applications and compliance requirements and give you a straight assessment: is Kubernetes the right path, what will it actually cost, and where are the risks?

6–8 weeks

02

Build

We build the platform — highly available, secure, fully documented and reproducible from code. Your teams are trained alongside it, so you do not stay dependent on us.

4–6 months

03

Evolve

After the initial build we stay as an embedded platform team, developing the platform further: upgrades, new workloads, multi-cluster expansion, cost reviews.

ongoing

Honestly: Kubernetes does not fix organisational problems. If it is unclear who deploys what and who owns incidents, the best cluster in the world will not help. That part you have to solve with us — we can help, but we cannot take it off your hands.

What we can prove

Kubestronaut and Golden Kubestronaut are awarded to individuals, not companies, and both are held for life. Certification density of this kind is not something you hire off the market.

CNCF Silver Member

Member of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation since August 2026.

Silver Member of The Linux Foundation

The CNCF membership includes Silver membership of The Linux Foundation — the organisation that holds the Kubernetes trademark itself.

Two Kubestronauts

Two of our engineers hold the Kubestronaut title (CKA, CKAD, CKS, KCNA, KCSA). Because there are two, the expertise does not sit with a single person — not even when one of them is booked on another project.

One Golden Kubestronaut

All 16 CNCF certifications plus LFCS — the highest certification level the foundation awards.

CKA-certified engineers

Beyond the two Kubestronauts, further engineers hold the Certified Kubernetes Administrator credential.

AWS Consulting Partner

Certified for AWS infrastructure: landing zones, EKS, Control Tower, CodePipeline.

Microsoft Azure Partner

Azure landing zones, AKS, Entra ID, Microsoft 365 and Intune across the Microsoft stack.

Let's talk it through

No sales pitch. We look at your situation and tell you honestly whether and how we can help — including when the answer is that you do not need Kubernetes.
